5-star brake grease that bulges rubber and seizes brake calipers? THE?

I bought this 2 years ago to save money and now I've just replaced 4 calipers on our car. Why on earth do they make brake grease that isn't rubber/plastic safe? Going forward I will only use this product for metal to metal or just recycle it and get something that works.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Can't remember

High quality synthetic grease for all high temperature applications

This excellent product can be used for all applications that require high temperature lubrication. On BBQ grills, for example, it's great for restoring gas valves and even lubricating lid hinges. This is a high-quality synthetic lubricant, so it is suitable for other purposes; but for high temperature lubrication, it is an indispensable product.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Everything seems fine. Useful.

This is a decent product but be aware that the Molycote M77 is almost cheaper when bought in 2oz. Dow Corning Molycote M77 is the standard brake lubricant used in rubber contact areas. It's available as Honda OEM Molypaste M77 for under $18 for 2.5 ounces. Great offer! I'm sure this will work just as well as many Permetex products, but at $5+ for .5 oz, mmm. I can consider purchasing an industry standard.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Some flaws

NOT FOR METAL AND RUBBER CONTACT!

Good. So, is this a good lube? Yes, that's right. However, it's NOT good if the manufacturer doesn't advise you that this isn't metal-to-rubber contact. We all know that floating saddles use a rubber boot! This is great for caliper pins! . Boots are perfect. No bulges and I could hear the grease inside as I worked the boots with my fingers. As a result, I will no longer use them. I bought silicone based CRC. I suggest you do the same.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Nothing

NOT for misrepresentation of rubber/caliper pin

I'm not a mechanic but bought this product for my caliper guide pins which I think most people buy it for. I've seen the fine print that for metal finishes it was much later than fact. I think virtually every caliper bolt has some rubber components (dust boot, bushing, etc) so that label is TERRIBLE. Evidence of the misleading/false advertising is that on their Amazon page they "ensure critical caliper pins, bushings, BUSHINGS and pistons remain lubricated throughout the life of the pad".…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Negative impression

Great brake lube, would like to buy a larger container

Well about two years ago I changed the brake pads and calipers and then over the summer I had a slight vibration in the steering wheel. I felt it on the driver's side front tire and noticed that my brakes squeaked and were spongy when stopping, which I found odd. When I got home I took the wheels off thinking maybe the caliper had rust from the bad Wisconsin winter had something left on the pins, I just smeared it around. Needless to say it came back about 2 months later when a pin on the…
