I have been using this product for several years. My cats think it's a treat, not a dietary supplement. My only complaint is that there is often a lot of "crumbs" and small pieces of gum, making it difficult to know if I'm giving my cats the right amount.

My little cat has chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract and you have to chew lysine 2 times a day. She can't handle the size of the gum so I chop/shave her very thin with a paring knife and add a spoonful of wet food morning and night. This is enough to ease her breathing, sneezing and dry cough for 12 hours. We can't comment on the taste and aroma as she doesn't speak English yet.

These treats provide the recommended daily allowance of lysine in one treat - much easier than pasta as my very picky cat seems to like the taste. I've been using them for about 3 years to prevent shedding of feline herpesvirus - only 1 outbreak and no virus spreading to my other cat. I'm glad I found many of them!

These lysine chews are great for my cats. Although they don't like them as much as cat treats, they will eat them easily. They're chewy than regular cat treats, so I've found them to be a lot easier to eat when divided into 3 portions. In the evening I just add treats to the wet food. Lysine has helped my two cats deal with feline herpes virus symptoms. I highly recommend this product.

Quality is inconsistent as others have pointed out. I received 6 packs in old packaging so I assume they are expired. My cat wouldn't touch them but he has used this brand for years and loves it. He gets eye ulcers when he doesn't have lysine immune support, so it's important that he gets his dose daily. Now I switch brands until I can find a consistent source of freshness as that is the best price and potency (if your cat will eat it).
