🚪 Medium PetSafe Extreme Weather Door in White Review

Dog door is the same as the one I had to replace. I gave 4 stars for weather protection because it's too early to know. The only drawback is the installation. My young neighbor has agreed to help me. He was upset until he saw the video. Thanks for this suggestion.

This is the best dog door we have ever installed and we have probably bought and installed 4 or 5 other types during our moves. I'd like something simpler with the door than a latch on the lid. Another brand had a swing gate to close the door and was easier to maneuver, but this door is better and installation was pretty easy too.

Works very well and keeps heat/cold through the dog flap but durability isn't the best. I can get about 4 years out of one before having to replace the frame as it rips out the flaps that hold the bolts in the anchor. I don't mind changing the flaps from time to time, but the frame? I only give five stars if the frame is made of metal and/or the screw flange is reinforced.

We bought this with the intention of having a medium sized dog in the future and now we have a small dog. While the English Setter has no trouble getting in and out of bed, this seems to be an issue for our Shih Tzu. A small dog has to paw at the door a few times to get its head through. This is not a design flaw of the product itself, but if you have different sized dogs, smaller ones may have trouble opening it. But overall it works great.

Weatherproof dog flap!
