Does what it's supposed to, but it's an eyesore.

I already have an outdoor fence so I didn't need collars. Inside the house I needed to restrict access upstairs, so instead of building a child's gate I bought two of these indoor units. I think I figured it would be smaller than the outdoor control box until it was about 4 x 6 x 2 inches; So it came as a bit of a surprise when the indoor units turned out to be 9-inch drives with a thickness of almost 3 inches. If you don't have a piece of furniture to fit under or otherwise hide it, it'sโ€ฆ

SportDog Underground Fence Collar (SDF100A) Compatible

Original review (2011): I have a SportDog Underground Fence Collar (SDF100A) and the Remote Control Collar is compatible with the PetSafe Indoor Fence Transmitter (PIRF-100). We've done a lot of research on various underground fences and while the Innotek/Petsafe Contain and Train System concept sounds like a winner and is compatible with the PetSafe Indoor Fence Transmitter, read all the bad reviews about the remote control containment and training trainer and the battery life of the collarโ€ฆ

Worked great for a while

(I am posting the same review for the cat collar and transmitter as they both need to work to be effective) After 5 weeks . I've downgraded my rating from 3 to 1 again. What a difference a few weeks make. The range of the transmitter is now about 3 feet. Even at max there is no difference. Warning and Shock are now also at the same distance. I tried everything to increase the range, I changed the battery in the collar. No difference in range, I moved the transmitter up and down and evenโ€ฆ

Update: good staying power + more than one use! Pretty good product, some flaws

UPDATE 2021: Thing still works! In the end, Kitty learned the limits pretty well, so we gradually adjusted and hidden them. Entering the 2020 Pandemic: Being home full time we have decided to help dogs of different ages at the shelter. The last one was a foster family fail (actually we had a brand new shelter waiting for us). Anyway, now we have a one year old puppy that is a doll. But I thought my older dog's ball pit was a litter box. After a few rounds of tears ๐Ÿ˜ญ and our carnival washingโ€ฆ
