It's quite tiring to see a low rating on a great product because someone didn't do their due diligence before buying it. No, there is no slot for optical drives and of course no remote control. I'll start with a few things I liked about the case: Lots of room, much more than my old Corsair Carbide. I ended up with a very clean build when all was said and done. You shouldn't have any problems with air or water cooling, although there is no heat sink mount on the top. I recommend 240mm up front if you go that route. This case is excellent. It comes with dust filters on the air intakes. The case comes with an LED magnetic strip that can change colors along with the power button ring and backlight. It all connects to a 12v sata connector so you can control it with just a switch on the case. It can work in static mode, "breathing mode" and color cycle (rainbow).
