Internet access requires dongle Philips WUB 1110.

Very good for DVD playback and easy to install. However, I don't think I would have bought it if I had known that the only way to connect to the internet is to use a key which is ONLY available from Philips and nowhere else (very expensive). I think I should learn to do more research. You get what you pay for. Would give it 5 stars if Dongle wasn't true and would recommend it to those who only want to watch Blueray DVDs.

Don't waste your money

I own or have purchased 3 of these DVD players. I bought one because of the USB input option. It worked great so I bought it for my grandmother. It didn't take long for its HDMI output to degrade. So I figured it was just coincidence and bought another one to replace. I ordered a new one and it arrived refurbished. I think all of these devices have problems when I receive them refurbished. Invest elsewhere, Phillips have really lost sight of what quality and reliability really mean.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

Amazing player works great

This player works great for me and plays divx/xvid, avi, h264, mkv, blu-ray, any 480p, 720p and 1080p files I throw at it. Plays all videos through the USB port and shows expanded names. The only downside is that there is no built-in wireless internet and only HDMI out, but I got that for $50 and free shipping. I use this with my 27" computer monitor and it is hardwired to an ethernet port so these issues are not a concern for me. I don't understand all the complaints about this device as it…
