I have been using a digital voice recorder every day for many years, so I am very familiar with the use of voice recorders. Unfortunately, there was no designer for this device. The buttons on the front of the device are exactly where you would normally wrap your fingers around the center while holding the recorder. More than once I've accidentally pressed one of the keys while dictating, only to later discover to my horror that I "rewind" somewhere in the middle of my dictation and dictated it

In medicine we use dictation all the time. I have used several different handheld digital recorders and this is by far the best. The biggest advantage this device has over all others is its ability to automatically adjust as you walk. If you say something and you don't like it, or you can think of a more concise way to say something, just go back to where you were last comfortable with your dictation and start from there. Other recorders have a pause button, but you cannot backup and repair it.

Although I've only just started using this new tool, I give it five stars. First, I would like to point out that being able to insert additional text at any time is more valuable than hiring a secretary to come back and insert it. I spiced it up. I like the on/off switch. No more random cuts in my audio during a call. And I like the menu system. Setup is easy with Philips Voice Exec software.
