In medicine we use dictation all the time. I have used several different handheld digital recorders and this is by far the best. The biggest advantage this device has over all others is its ability to automatically adjust as you walk. If you say something and you don't like it, or you can think of a more concise way to say something, just go back to where you were last comfortable with your dictation and start from there. Other recorders have a pause button, but you cannot backup and repair it. Most digital recorders do not allow backup and repair. You record what you say but once it's recorded, that's it, unless you want to delete the file and do it again. Also, you can go back to any previously recorded file and change it as needed as additional information becomes available (as opposed to inserting an addition at the end, which leaves inaccurate data in the transcript). The menu is convenient, everything is very simple. The software also works great. Once set up, simply plug it into the stand and it will be routed to the Transcriptionist or Dragon program. I am more than satisfied with this registrar. I haven't seen a single bug in the system yet. Buy this one and you'll stone the rest.
