Head of department

Ordered goods one day, they were there the next day. Exactly as advertised (brand new, excellent condition, excellent care upon delivery).

Worked in TV and video for a year

worked like new for a year until the warranty expired. Now it won't burn any new discs I put in. + or - DVDs will not be recorded.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • almost everything is ok

Absolutely wonderful

After reading the reviews about this player I am convinced that it is better. After plugging it in and using it, I was convinced that it was. Highly recommended (if you can still find it).

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • quality

only the menu is slightly different from 3505

Works as advertised. Great tuner. Note. None of the Phillips DVR remotes will work with TV remotes (not even Phillips TVs). That's the biggest minus. (Phillips has no answer, oops).

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not sure

He loves it for DVD players

It arrived damaged on the outside and looked like it wouldn't work but your customer service waited until they opened the box and used it to see if it could be returned . It works! Five stars for customer service. It was a gift.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Big and bulky

So far so good the best DVD players and recorders

I bought this recorder to replace a Panasonic that kept jamming. In the 2 weeks I've had the Phillips it worked fine, although a bit slow in loading the disc. The image quality in 4-hour mode is very good. Programming is very easy.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

reliable performer good for dvd player

I replaced a Sony with this Philips. I'm so glad I made this recorder a solid performer. The biggest problem with Sony was that formatting the disc, if it read it at all, was slow, and loading and finalizing the disc. It's much faster. The only thing I liked about Sony was the way they labeled or named DVDs. There were letters on the screen and you just used the arrows on the remote to select the letter. With Philips, you enter the name as if you were texting with a remote control.

Pros
  • great design
Cons
  • some little things

Why I give this car 5 stars.

I've been reading other people's reviews of this machine for a while. I have an analog TV that is about 20 years old. The Kinescope still works perfectly, so I don't want to buy a new TV. Of course, after the country switched to digital broadcasting, I needed a DTV set-top box. Like millions of others, I received a $40 coupon and bought a DTV set-top box that stopped working after a few months. I was now looking for a DVD/DIVX player and a DTV receiver. By the will of fate, the two worlds…
