Hue Go and Hue Iris: LED bulbs

I have a lot of Hue bulbs. My first impression of Iris was "wow, so bright!" I also have a Philips Hue Go (Bluetooth version). Here are the pros and cons of both bulbs: Aperture: Pros: The back is made of clear synthetic plastic material (not glass), so it doesn't break easily. Advantages: BRIGHT light! Much brighter than a GoPro: Judging by its size, it's lighter than I thought. Cons: It is NOT wireless. The lamp must be connected to the mains in order to work. A little crap. Go: Pro: Wireless

Pros
  • One-year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

Possibly renovated. Disappointing

Totally disappointing and I will be returning it. When I got the Hue Light, the red flags immediately went up. I think they sent me a repaired or opened box. The original seal on the box was present but was cut off and partially removed and a new seal placed over it. But I opened it up anyway and plugged it in to charge. It connected to my Echo Show with no problems, but Alexa often ignored my instructions for the colors I requested. Eventually, after about 15 minutes of use, it just went offโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Love Hue - and this is no exception!

We have over a dozen 'regular' Hue lights in our house, plus a few chandelier lights and lighting strips under and above cabinets, so we have a big Hue family. I looked at Hue Go for a while and finally bought it - and I wish I hadn't done it before! I love portability. We keep it for ambient/tuned lighting in the main bathroom and set it to slowly brighten in the morning (to help wake you up!). However, it doesn't stay in the bathroom - it moves! The load is great - so let's take this littleโ€ฆ

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • something different
