Hub can't update, complains about no internet (Internet is available)

I was only able to get this to work using a third party app (Hue Essentials on the Play Store). The Phillips app doesn't start until you update the hub, and that update process complains about not being able to access the internet, but the blue light on the hub, signaling a network connection, turns solid blue, indicating that the Device actually exists connected to the network. Once set up via Hue Essentials rather than the useless Phillips app, the included smart button worked as expectedโ€ฆ

Works as advertised but very weak

Even at the highest settings these bulbs are very dim, you need at least 4 per room but then the value for money is greatly reduced. The app has firmware updates for each device but it takes hours and there is no percentage or estimated time left leaving you waiting indefinitely. The strangest thing about this firmware update process is that some of the devices eventually say "ready to update" but you can't update them individually. From all the test videos I've heard that Zigbee is slightlyโ€ฆ

Only fits if you only use Hue

My problems:1. I bought it a few months ago when I moved to a new place. It took me far too long to try the bulbs only to find that one of them didn't respond to the bridge and didn't even have a serial number. I can no longer try to go back as it has been over 30 days and I still and even find the support number on their website even if I could. 2. Not very dark. Wanted two bulbs for bedroom lighting and while they can be bright enough their lowest light level is still too bright for me and my
