Great bulbs that require easy self-assembly

Large white LED bulbs and a great way to get rid of fluorescent tubes which are a mercury hazard. Please note that you CANNOT simply replace old fluorescent tubes with these LED bulbs. Installation requires a small do-it-yourself project to cut and reconnect the wires directly to bypass the ballast.

Pros
  • COOL WHITE: Philips 3ft T8 LED ballast bypass tube lamps provide cool and clear illumination with a high CRI (color rendering index). These 4000K lamps offer bright and clear colors ideal for offices, schools and retail environments.
Cons
  • No automatic

Easy to install and works well

. Interestingly, Revain asked for a "durability" rating. I wonder how many people leave a review after using a product for hours or weeks. Installation: Easy. Remove and discard the ballast. Run the "hot" (black) wire from the switch to one end of the tube and the neutral (white) wire to the other. Make sure the socket has jumpers on both pins (in my case it was). You may need to connect a short piece of wire, maybe a foot or so, to get to one side of the lamp. No polarity - you can connect…

Pros
  • COMPATIBILITY: These Philips LED bulbs fit in medium sized bi-pin G13 sockets. Not compatible with Philips HUE products. Philips LED Ballast Bypass 3ft T8 tube lamps are designed for unplugged use only.
Cons
  • It was possible to choose a newer model
