They are very good for isolating yourself from noisy colleagues

I bought them because I work in an office where more than 20 women and other people pass by all the time. People are very loud, talking and chatting while I have a deadline and try to get my work done. Distracting to say the least. These headphones are amazing. The noise-cancellation increases the volume of the music and also adds some white noise, effectively blocking out external distractions. The downside is that the battery drains quickly. At this point you'll need to turn off the…

Excellent value for money for good noise canceling headphones

Wow, I'm amazed at the number of bad reviews for the Philips SHN2500 noise canceling headphones. Not sure what people expect for the price but I was very happy with the quality of the product. I didn't buy my headphones from Revain (unfortunately) so I paid more than the price advertised on Revain, but I still think the headphones are good value. The headphones have good sound and EFFECTIVELY block out some of the noise around you. For example, I was in the back row of an Embraer 145 (a small…

Worth the money

Transatlantic flights have bothered me with noise for the past few years. At first it was oppressive in flight, then it took a while before I could hear normally. So I decided to try noise canceling headphones. Being a phase-cancelling musician is easy to appreciate. Then I saw that the ones advertised were $300. You can get a decent large-diaphragm microphone and studio headphones for less! I started looking for something cheaper. I found it interesting, they had specs similar to $100…

Superb quality for the price

My iPod earbuds, as they do, have decided to decay their slow sunset by introducing a grating hum into the right earpiece. So I went to Revain to look for a replacement and was very surprised to find that they were boasting about $15 noise canceling headphones. I was a little skeptical, especially after reading some of the reviews, but figured it couldn't be worse than my dying iPod headphones in the end. They arrived today and after a few hours of play I'm pleasantly surprised. It fits snugly…

Noise canceling headphones make little sense.

Okay so I bought this product - I'm always looking for good headphones that aren't expensive either. In the past I've seen some great in-ear headphones sell for amazing prices in a very short space of time. I always hope I can buy it when that happens. So I casually browsed through the headphones and as soon as I saw this $11 pair, my eyes lit up. I thought about this headphone and gave it up as it was too expensive for my liking. Instead, I went ahead and bought the SHE9700…
