You MUST start untangling VERTICALLY at the ends and work your way up, then continue horizontally. This is especially important if you have very thick and curly hair like mine. My daughter and I have SUPER curly hair. She is 10 years old and learning to take care of it herself. She often doesn't finish the flush, resulting in a confusing mess. I ordered these 2 packs so she has one brush in the shower (to brush the conditioner) and one when she comes out so I can make sure she gets all the tangles out. We used it last night and it worked PERFECTLY! I like the fact that it's plastic so I can clean it easily and that it's curved. Highly recommended!

I didn't have high hopes for this brush. It doesn't look very nice and I figured since the price is decent I'd at least give it a try. I have 3B type hair with some 3C sections. This product is advertised as 2 detangling brushes but is actually 1.5. There are these strips that you need to attach to the back of the brush to separate the rows of bristles. You need 2 to use the brush properly (you can see the holes where it belongs). You only get 2 of these strips when you actually need 4 to use both brushes properly! This detangling brush is God sent. I literally detangled my 4c hair in 10 minutes. I removed the bun, spritzed my hair with an instant moisturizer, straightened my hair and combed through most of the dead hair without pulling or tiring to detangle. After shampooing and conditioning I detangled them with conditioner and this brush ran through my hair like butter. I have also used this on my clients hair, same results and shorter coloring time. This product is amazing! I can never quite untangle my daughter's super curly, textured hair because it always ends in a howling fight. But with this comb, for the first time in 8 years, I was able to detangle her hair in 20 minutes with no problems! The clip that comes with the kit to stabilize the bristles of the brush pops out a lot so my 8 year old gave me the idea to put a hair bow on him and it worked great!

Reading the reviews I expected this product to blow my socks off. I'm not thrilled. I've been natural for over 20 years, I can't tell you exactly what my exact hair type is but it's somewhere between 3C and 4C except it's not that thick and really soft and I'm having a hard time keeping the shape curl. Works well on my son's hair, he has a small afro. Doesn't work on my daughter's hair or mine. I still have to use a wide-toothed comb first, and then after removing all the big tangles, and with a ton of detangler, I can run this brush through our hair. My daughter has a very delicate head with very thick hair. It didn't live up to my expectations or the Instagram video of him. Everything is not for everyone.
