Works as it should

I added this to a Wacker Neuson 2 inch electric pump to permanently dry my ranch wet area. Works like a dream. It takes a bit of trial and error to find the right amount of Float/On, Down/Off for your needs, but I love it. I had to order another one, the 10ft cord won't hold up if run past it with a brush cutter ;-).

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • No instructions

It works well but I would like one that works in shallow water.

Works well but would like one that works in shallow water. feet water. For my application I want something that will shut off the pump for about 6 inches of water.

Great product and works better than expected

I uploaded a video to show my sump size and switch size; You can also see the switch in action. I was hesitant to buy a switch because the reviewers said it's very large but fits my sump easily and I'm hoping this setup will survive my last WAYNE drain pump which only lasted 6 months. The video shows a Zoeller 53-0002 N53 Mighty-Mate non-automatic submersible pump.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • So far so good

Difficult to protect but doable

Float seems solid. Not sure if the float stays securely attached with zip ties. It's hard to get them tight enough when going into the swamp. The zip ties were also too short for my 2" injector line. I used the 12" zip ties I had on hand and used the three instead of the two provided. Hopefully this will prevent the float from loosening which could cause the sump to overflow. Looking back, I should have used a hose clamp better. Haven't used it long enough to know the durability of the switch.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Safety

Easy installation, excellent quality.

After the float switch on my pump gave out, my father suggested I try this combination pump instead of replacing the switch myself. Apparently he has them at home too. After reading my options, using piggybacks seemed like the best (and most economical) solution since my pump was still in good condition. The package arrived on Sunday and I was able to install it. It is today. Installation was easy, even for a newbie (and god forbid, a newbie), and I'm really glad I didn't pay anyone to do it…

functional but unwieldy size and movement (UPDATE 6/2018, switch defective)

UPDATE 6/2018: switch fails after less than two years of use, "hangs" coincidentally even in the 90 degree Angle. Sticking it could burn out my pump, but sticking it to "off" flooded my basement. I was very dissatisfied to see the submerged switch happily floating upright. A vigorous push brought it back to life, but later in the day it got stuck several times (while I was watching). A failed float switch is an unusable float switch. Lowering my rating from 3 to 2 stars as I've been expecting a
