Pioneer AVH 220EX Multimedia DVD Receiver Review

A good Pioneer receiver to buy at an affordable price. The music sounds clear, with enough bass, it's perfect. It was just a matter of preference.

My son ordered this part to upgrade my daughter's 2011 Ford Escape stereo system. The upgrade is complete and my daughter's car is up to date with a phone connection that meets hands-free requirements.

So I bought this radio because it was a year newer than the one I had. I love this radio it's amazing. The only downside is that you can only connect 3 bluetooth devices and you cannot delete the devices!

Works as expected. The instructions for the camera view button could be clearer. To use the camera view button, the camera needs power from the auxiliary ignition wire. The radio does not power the camera when the camera view button is used.

I have this radio in several cars now as it has been a reliable unit. The touchscreen was good and the screen is a decent size, and the rear camera never let me down. The DVD player is surprisingly good for a car radio. Will buy again when I have another car.

As a big fan of the Pioneer I am very happy with this radio. I was surprised that it has 3 RCA outputs (front, rear and subwoofer), the mic cable is long enough to be placed close enough to hear me clearly. The USB extension is long and an extra surprise!

I didn't know it was illegal to play a DVD while driving until the installer told me why the picture on the DVD while the ride became empty . This is a security feature to comply with the law. I am using factory speakers in my 2006 Ford Focus. The sound is much better than the factory radio. Good options eq. The microphone is a bit weak. I have to be pretty close so people can hear me well when I'm on the phone. Nice little stereo for the price.

I'm in love with this pioneer! I installed it on my 2006 Chevy Impala. If you already have radios installed, installation won't take long. You will need to purchase a separate wiring harness to bypass the parking brake cable if you want a DVD. play while driving. I also installed a reversing camera which works great too.

The sound of this receiver is excellent, but there is no way to mirror the communication and an Android device. Bluetooth is your only option to play items from your Android phone on the receiver. Even with the electronic brake properly installed and activated, the DVD player still won't play the aux displays on the back. There is sound but no picture. I have had good experiences with other Pioneer products but you get what you pay for with this product. I haven't found an app that allows you…
