Intimidating but stubborn cats can still walk on it

I was hoping this would stop my naughty cat from jumping and/or urinating on the dining table. He's still generally bouncing around the table, although maybe not as often, but he's definitely stopped peeing where I put the tape. The first night I taped down all the surfaces he jumped on; The next morning the tape was covered in paw prints, LOL (Bad Kitty!). Now he doesn't jump around the table as much and doesn't write in places where the tape is. But for a quick jump, the tape doesn't hold myโ€ฆ

Worked great in my household.

Antique furniture and cats are not compatible. But since I love them both, I had to try something. Despite some negative reviews, I desperately decided to try this stuff. The results were fantastic. I set up an old wooden table where the kittens would sharpen their claws (!) and stop when their little hands touched the sticky surface. My spreadsheet is saved. Gradually, other wooden and upholstered furniture also got sticky edges on the sides and top. I really can't understand how people hadโ€ฆ

My cats HATE this! (which is good!)

LOVE this double sided tape, works so well I've bought more! It takes a little practice not to wrinkle the whole thing (because it's so sticky), but once you get the hang of it (start peeling off the white paper BEFORE you apply the tape!), everything will go smoothly. I originally got this because one of my cats is very curious and likes to jump on the counter when we are preparing food that we want to keep away from him (whether it's dangerous for cats or it's his food and he's trying toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Hard to say

I have posted on the main areas of my sofa that my cat will purposefully walk under or around her scratching posts and posts to get to them. The tape is very easy to use, just like packing tape. After application, peel off the backing to reveal the outer adhesive. My sofa has a coarse linen texture so the tape came off when I removed the lining strips, so pressing on the lining strips with a hand/finger while I was peeling the lining strips off helped. I checked the entire roll of tape. So ifโ€ฆ

Must have if you are a kitty lover!

OK, new sofa, I already had that wonderful piece of tape handy. It worked great on all my sofas. The photo above is a week after I had my sofa. I ran out of tape installing the sofa but felt like I had most areas covered. I thought my kittens were getting old and I didn't have to worry that much. Unfortunately my kitties found a few areas that I didn't miss and went into town as shown in the pictures in places where there is no duct tape. The areas with the tape are fully functional. Professional advice from an experienced cat groomer

This is double sided tape. Quite easy. But as a cat owner of 4 and the adoptive parent of a 3 year old cat, I have one piece of advice for cat owners: put tape on a piece of cardboard (or something equally useless but hard) and then tape some cardboard on top. next to an unwanted scratch object. So just throw away the piece of cardboard when you no longer need it. You don't have to worry about the tape ruining the furniture, and the cardboard isn't as transparent as the tape so you can seeโ€ฆ

Effective but wait

Our newly adopted 2 year old tomcat Leo was very hyperactive and playful when we first brought him home. He kept jumping on the kitchen tables, the dining room table, even the giant wall mirror in our living room. We were concerned for his safety - and ours. The vet recommended an apartment for the big cat, which we immediately bought. We ordered a high quality 72 inch flat pre-assembled so we had to wait 2 weeks for the build. In the meantime, I've researched the issue and found that some cats
