Great Sounding Speakers

Great Sounding Speakers. Use them outdoors around the pool in an aviary. Good basic response, decent mids and highs. The only drawback is that the grille is not removable.

Pros
  • That's Amazing
Cons
  • Almost Never

Beautiful sound with Kenwood amp

Beautiful sound with Kenwood amp, not much bass but very clean at all volumes. Also durable, dropped it 10 times during installation, caused no damage and didn't affect the sound at all.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Reliability

These pioneers now deliver crystal clear highs and rich bass in our 23 center console at 30 knots or during swim stops. We equipped them with a powerful Class D amplifier and they handle the load very well. There are excellent quality coax cables with good support for 4 times the price. For $$.it's hard to beat!

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Clean

Garbage. I change every year!

Garbage. I change every year! I've been a fan of the 2040's for years and swap them out every year because the tweeter has failed or the mids are failing. I look them down in my tower so they are safe from the elements. I use JL Audio Amps and Wetsounds EQ. So there's no excuse for miswiring or using unnecessary hardware. I don't buy anymore. Switched to Memphis 8. This has been going on for 2 years now. zero problems

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Poor connectors aside, the excellent speaker

I installed them 5 years ago along with a set of 6.5 inch speakers. I would have preferred other connectors for the speaker wires as this was a weak point (had to reconnect/solder a few times). BUT the speakers sound great and have performed well. I only swap them out after 5 years in a salt water environment (outside, no cover on the nose) as the speaker environment has deteriorated.

Pros
  • is GOLS certified
Cons
  • Compatibility

Efficiency at its best

These speakers work great, we installed them under the back seat on my friend's pontoon boat and they sound fantastic. We looked for speakers that would give us maximum bass response while playing as loud as possible with as little energy as possible. These speakers don't disappoint with their 92dB sensitivity and size, allowing them to play loud and deliver amazing bass even when powered by a modest 15W Class D amplifier. This combination allows us to listen to music all day without draining…
