I can't figure out how to use it.

I have been wanting to lubricate the bonnet release cables on my Land Rovers. But I think it only works if you can put the entire end of the cable and case inside.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Modern

Disappointing Best in toolboxes

The product feature idea looked good. That does not work. If the cable wire could be removed I wouldn't need this device. Because the lubricant is simply sprayed through the device and not through the cable hose. Bad buy for me.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Rubber is seal a bit soft

I have used similar devices in the past. This works well for bike cables, but the seal around the inner wire (rather than the body of the cable) leaks more than previous models I've used. It looks like the shape of the rubber seal has been changed. Overall the device is good, however when injecting into the cable there is more lube than I would like.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Doesn't work for everyone

Leaks Very good for tool kits

No matter how tight it is, it still leaks and even a little. I've used it on standard XR100 cables. It worked and I'm not dissatisfied. Be prepared to have a rag wrapped around it to soak up the mess. The cables work very well after use. Don't expect liquid to leak out of the other end of the cable immediately. I left and came back after a while and gravity did its work. Lube came out the other end.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Big and bulky

I want it to work

I've tried this on my Suzuki's throttle cables and seat release cable, first with the cables attached and then with one end off the bike. Neither method worked at all, in fact it didn't include any lube spray or vented into the shell as far as I could tell. Spray the lubricant everywhere except the cable/sheath. I can do better with a nitrile or rubber glove wrapped around the cable and lube spray tube. It seemed too small to seal around the scabbard. I gave this 2 stars because it can route my

NOT ROUND! WON'T STUCK ON WIRE HOUSING

I bought three. Tried to pinch Mazda Miata throttle cable. Both the cable sleeve and the cable are in the clamping area of this tool. I tried introducing Champion Chain Lube Spray Grease which never hardens and works equally well for bike brake cables and heavier applications. In any case, Pit Posse Cable Luber (PP1721) will not be edited. Aluminum jaws OVAL. Worse still, the inner sealing surface is made of thin plastic. My previous cable lube had a thick rubber inner core. Not sure what went…

Doesn't do the job

Of course, this is my first and only lube, but it just doesn't do the job. First, I don't think the rubber insert is the right shape. Not enough fabric. Second, knurled clamp screws are far from adequate. I had to twist them with pliers to even get a proper seal. Third, the hole where the cable lube tube is inserted is the wrong size. It doesn't form a good seal. Half the thickness of the rubber insert hole is about 15% larger than the tube, and the other half is about the same size as the…
