    The amplifier overheats quickly. Trust me HUM.

    I installed this amp with two 10" subwoofers. After 10 seconds, the protect mode indicator will illuminate and the amplifier will turn off. You will then need to turn the key off and on again to restart the amp. I've tried other Planet Audio amplifiers on past projects and had problems back then, I wouldn't touch PLANET AUDIO!

    Damn, that's loud! good for car radio

    I was completely blown away by the sound this amp can produce. I haven't hooked up a car audio system in over 20 years but when I bought a used car with a terrible radio and speakers I had to upgrade it. I wouldn't spend a lot of money on this car. I really wasn't expecting to hook up this amp to new speakers and it would sound crystal clear for 2 blocks of NYC. Definitely a great buy.

    Good product for what it is!

    I installed it for about a month. When delivered, the volume control of the external subwoofer does not work. That was to be expected since my son also has this name extender and it stopped working pretty quickly. Unlike other amps I've had, this one needs to be tuned for different songs, especially since using an EQ is a solution to a problem or bass cut. For now, I'm recommending this in the short term.

    It overheats and shuts down immediately. Very frustrating.

    Overheats too fast. I don't even have a giant woofer let alone car speakers. I bought a capacitor to see what makes the difference. To update. Even with that capacitor, it still turns off. DO NOT BUY THIS. I called the Amazon Helpline but it didn't work. NOTHING WORKS. To update. I put 120mm case fans on the amp and it still doesn't overheat like it used to. The fans now spin at 1000 RPM about an inch away from the amp. I live in the tropics so I'll be upgrading the fans to 2000rpm soon.

    Good price: amplifier

    I have pl3000.2. This is a 3000 watt amp that moderately powers my dual 15 inch Cerwin Vegas which can draw twice as much as this CAP8 condenser amp. I installed it today and they are moderately good for an amp that costs around $100. I currently have just over half its boost, 50Hz bass, with no bass boost. It worked for me for about an hour, but for the first 15 minutes I calmed down to let it warm up. As this is an AB type amp it gets hot but I haven't driven it to the point where it cuts…

    Great sound for about 2 weeks

    The sound was good [after I set it up] and it got hot, sometimes very hot, and it was set with fans to cool. I've never managed to get anything over 60% distortion free on any setting. And finally it exploded. Protection never worked. He just dropped a channel and before I even knew it, he dropped another. The reason I say this is because when I noticed the first channel, I checked to see if there was a problem and I actually heard the second click. I noticed it was the cap but can't be sure…

    Powerful 4-channel amplifier

    I love this amplifier! Lots of power for your doors! Warning of two things. First, make sure your speakers can handle it! Don't use anything cheap. Second, it tends to overheat with prolonged playback. but with class A/B amplifiers this is always a problem. In order to get a crystal clear sound, it generates a lot of heat. I'm looking for fans to keep this powerhouse cool. I've been working on my system for about 3 weeks, basically I was looking for crystal clear sound with intense bass…
