Great for applications with precious metals as it will not mar. Yellow plastic head made of non-porous material and seasoned hardwood. Made in the USA. Size 2. 1-1/2 inch face, 6 ounce head weight.

Very useful excellent quality hammer

Before I got this I used a rawhide hammer solely for shaping, measuring and shaping rings and cuffs. Then I started seeing other metalworkers using this yellow plastic hammer to do even better work. I had to get one! So I've been using mine for a while now with great results! Would recommend to other jewelers and metal crafters!

Not very suitable for leather work.

The rawhide tip suggested it might be used with tools. I bought this hammer for leatherworking as while it's tool capable it doesn't have the weight to pound forks or an awl for sewing and there are better tool options. It's a cheap alternative, it's not bad, and it's not exclusively manufactured.
