As another viewer said, this adapter will not fit 3" Schedule 40 PVC pipes. The hole in the adapter is the same size as the PVC pipe and is adjacent to it. I went to my local clothing store and got a 3" adapter that went right over the adapter, then a 3" PVC went in and everything worked fine.

I used this to install at the end of a gutter and then used a 3x1.5 fitting to divert water away from my house. The problem was, those stupid things that stretched out just kept the water in and came out where the water went in. I was able to take the PVC from the other end and extend the water about 10 feet (pool of water around the foundation).

Attention buyers. Will not fit Schedule 40 PVC, only SDR35, the smaller white PVC. Unfortunately, the return costs more than the original cost. While Revain's wording ignored the size difference, I attributed the $11.94 purchase price to buyer error and learned my lesson. SDR is a small thin PVC. I hope this helps other buyers avoid the same mistake.
