As phones get bigger these large metal covers come in very handy. This provides a large contact surface for attaching the magnet. Also, think of a space so the magnet doesn't hit the exact spot. The patch is much larger than the round pad that came with my magnetic mount.

I recently bought a new phone so I needed a new metal plate. I chose the 8 pack as it offered the best deal at the time of my search. I received the item the same day I ordered it and attached it to the inside of the Essential PH-1 phone case. It holds up very well after my first tests.

These self-adhesive metal plates are used as a replacement or replacement part for your magnetic phone mount. I use 3M glue to stick the metal plate to the inside of the phone case (between the phone and the case). If I want to replace the case, I need a new metal plate, not another magnetic mount. I can't imagine using them in a car - the adhesion isn't good enough to stick well to anything other than a flat surface. Even then I had to supplement them by gluing them with Gorilla double-sided tape. traditional cornices with screws. I painted them white to match the color of the door frame - it turned out quite well. The real challenge was sticking these panels vertically to the door frame and holding the small sheer curtain.
