I can't imagine using them in a car - the adhesion isn't good enough to stick well to anything other than a flat surface. Even then I had to supplement them by gluing them with Gorilla double-sided tape. traditional cornices with screws. I painted them white to match the color of the door frame - it turned out quite well. The real challenge was sticking these panels vertically to the door frame and holding the small sheer curtain. The thin tape on the back of the metal panels was not strong enough to stick and hold a small 7 inch plastic curtain rod. I had to use double-sided Gorilla tape to stick the panels to the door frame, but they didn't. In the end, the trick was to put a small bead of superglue between the panel and the Gorilla tape - the tape that goes on dem was platters just weren't strong. With that experience, I can't imagine these slabs would stick to an uneven surface with granular pebbles big enough to support a phone.
