A great alternative to the significantly more expensive Camelbak.

I LOVE my Platypus bottles! Last year I took 2 liter bottles with me on day hikes in Peru and I love that (1) I didn't have to fiddle with bulky empty bottles when I was ready and (2) I could fill them up and use them over and over again again. without worrying about them breaking or leaking. They are of excellent quality and designed for many uses. I also prefer the snap top on them over the regular screw top on some other bottles. Here's a hint; When it's empty, blow into the bottle to…

Four out of five came without a lid.

I have a hard time writing a review about it. I love these bottles and I'm sure they work great! I ordered two and neither came with a lid. I wanted to have them replaced and only one could be replaced. I did this and a new one came with a cap. (it was bottle #3) I bought a second one to replace the first which was returnable only and the new one I got had no cap (bottle #4). I contacted the seller (Revain) to see if they would just send me a hat. They said they couldn't do it and offered to…

Durable and comfortable

I picked up a 1 liter platypus on a recent 2 day hike and it has been incredibly helpful in filtering creek water. It took some practice to figure out how to pour extra water into the bag, but the two best methods for me were 1) place it directly under a running water source 2) scoop the water multiple times as it can be difficult for the water to be easy flow into a bag. It should have some firmness as it holds liquids like an IV bag (difficult to fill and lose water if dropped). my hydration…

Duckbill leaks on first use!

Do not buy this item. The quality of Platypus has dropped significantly. As an NFL season ticket holder for 30 years (1979-2009), I was thrilled when the Platypus launched as I was able to replace my old canteen with this soft, flexible and durable e-liquid container. A platypus stuffed with Macallan was easy to carry into the stadium and always enhanced the match day experience. So I recently bought two of these for the ND Shamrock Series game at Yankee Stadium. The platypus lasted until the…

Thin clean plastic floppy disk bottle.

With so many single-use plastic bottles littering our beaches, it makes sense to buy one. Single-use plastic bottles make a crackling sound when drinking in a quiet environment. This will save you money on your trip as you will be filling it all the time. That's why I didn't get it, I use it on short hikes, now with my new inexpensive top screw filter I get a lot more range with less water. I fold it up when it's done or when I travel with it. The best part is that if you spill water from a…

Snap or Screw Cap for Skiing

I bought this item with the intention of skiing. I needed a bottle that would easily fit in my jacket for days when I didn't want to carry around a full pack. I was between this water bottle, the same bottle but with a standard screw cap, and the same 0.7 liter bottle from Vapur. In the end I settled on a standard cap. The Vapur was of good quality but the .7L was a little large for ski jacket pockets and the lid was larger. The slip-on cap was strong, which I felt was a must so it didn't spill

Not exactly "soft " but they get the job done and at a great price!

I ordered two of these after using (and LOVE) the Platypus PlusBottle on a recent hike. Due to the product name "SoftBottle" I assumed that these bottles are made of the same material as my current PlusBottle. Unfortunately it isn't. This SoftBottle plastic is quite hard and dare I say brittle, while my Platypus PlusBottle feels almost rubbery and very flexible. The rigidity makes the bottle's flat/melted edges a bit awkward to hold, especially in one hand. Not sharp, of course, but almost. I…

Beautiful water bottle or leather

I love the tree design. Looks like I'll have to wash it often anyway, and the lid will eventually develop too many ridges for my comfort. I still prefer push-pull over Hyper-Flow (lid sold separately) and resealable lid (less convenient to drink by mouth and less control over flow). The curve helps with traction. It rolls up or lays flat, very light weight and easy to carry when empty. There is no negative impact on taste. You can pour more than just water here, I just don't do it. Unless I…
