This bypass valve is PERFECT

This bypass valve is PERFECT. It is beautifully crafted, elegant and well designed. The vent button works perfectly, allowing me to completely fill my Lindal Valve canisters. I also bought propane and butane adapters to allow for the "complete set". I can't imagine how I could improve this. Worth every penny. RF

Works best in camp stoves

Nice to get rid of some old gas cans with this. However, don't expect to transfer ALL the fuel from one canister to another. As mentioned, you need to cool the receiving can and keep the outgoing can warm. Hold the cold canister down and the pressure of the warmer canister up moves the fuel into the cold canister.

Never run out of two cans of gas

A friend recommended this to me. You just stick your old canister in the freezer and let it cool. Then screw that gas valve onto another fuel tank (I use the big ones which are a lot more economical than the small ones I use for hiking) and then screw it onto your cold little one. Put the small one down and the big one up and turn on the faucet. In a few minutes your little canister will be full and you can get started. So easy, such a money saver! It will pay off quickly!

Spargas - Camping stove

Connection valve seems to be well made. I had no trouble connecting to either site. Following the instructions, I was able to fill an almost empty small canister (120g) from a large canister. It took more than one try as the pressure differential decreased. From the first time it turned out 180gr. At the second gas station I was lucky and stopped at 212g. It's usually sold full at 210g so yes it works. That means I halve the cost of future gas usage. With about 13 fillings, the valve would have

Dangerous, useless, does not work with mixed gases

Totally useless and dangerous. Mixed gases have different partial pressures and boiling points, so they move unevenly between cylinders. It is very difficult to control the transfer of gases and it is easy to accidentally overfill the cylinder. I tried it once, got a little scared assessing the risk of loss and decided that the minimal long-term savings I could end up making weren't worth it. Save money and invest in buying new cans when you need them. I doubt this thing will ever save you any…

No more partially filled canisters!

Works great using a large 450g can to fill a smaller 4oz can. I was only able to fill them to 75%, but after chilling the receiving canister in the freezer for 5-10 minutes, I was able to fill them to 100%. In fact, I overfilled a few canisters by a few grams, so I burned them just in case. I don't know how to use the vent button. It just wastes fuel! When I press on it, gas escapes. If anyone knows the correct usage for this please let me know. Maybe I should have gotten the standard gas saver

Cons
  • hard to say

Effective and dangerous, what's not to like?

Well the instructions were entirely in Chinese and this is a very dangerous device because you can overfill the containers. I'm sure someone will lose a limb or worse if it hasn't already happened. However, use a digital kitchen scale to avoid overfilling and refrigerate the container to preserve fuel as others have suggested. You'll never have to carry two cans of fuel again or spend money buying fuel when you already have around 8 cans that are half full or halfway empty. Get one now before…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Nothing

Small pearl of technology

G-works works well. It's just a female-to-female Lindal valve connection with a stopcock and bypass valve to vent the gas from the receiver bottle. Easy. But it's beautifully made and works a treat. The advantage of this is that instead of filling up with full canisters, you fill up almost empty and then empty canisters one after the other with the fuel required for a specific journey. Only take what you need. Combined with an adapter or two (and the intelligence, knowledge, and attention to…
