Use them properly.

I was concerned after reading reviews that they weren't balanced. I received them and just made sure to press them firmly against the chuck and they have worked great on several projects.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Super comfortable, best in Leathercraft Accessories

I was a little apprehensive based on the reviews I saw but these things work really great. I tried them out to make sure they didn't bend in real use and even when the skin was a little damp it still smoothed the skin out nicely and gave it a nice shiny look. I installed them as deep as possible in the Dremmel and had no problems at all.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Infuriates

Unstable quality, one unusable

The thicker one is obviously not centered on the shaft. After seeing how many people have had the same issues with it and because it bends the shaft I will not be using the one we are concerned about for safety reasons. The thinner one is discreet in the middle. But it's still not as good as my handmade raincoat. Worked well as a first pass to get rid of the roughness.

Pros
  • Ideal for rotating tools! A drill press, hand drill, lathe, or any other powered tool will also work.
Cons
  • Not sure

Works great with Dremel

After reading many reviews I doubted the quality but took a chance. The build quality is excellent, the shaft is centered and balanced. I've used this in a regular 2 speed Dremel and it worked great at both speeds. Low speed will stagnate a little at high pressure, but you don't need to apply much pressure for the friction to do its job.

Pros
  • Simply wet the edge of the leather and then add either saddle soap or glycerine to keep the edge well polished.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

The polishing is done, but not in the way I hoped.

Not sure what I think of these polishing tools yet. It works quickly and I used a battery powered Dremel (8220). If you leave the revs low it will stall and stall. At higher speeds, it continues to spin while touching the skin. I used water and a fine Japanese tragacanth to buff the edges - if I hand buff with a wooden mantle until it's smooth and shiny, the Dremel buff will even out the edge. I think my best recommendation is to use the motorized process for the first pass with water, then add

Pros
  • Please note that the package does not include a drill.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
