Defective when received

The item was not working when I received it. The temperature plummeted when I took it out of the oven, even though it was tucked into the meat as directed. The temperature readings were inaccurate compared to my digital thermometer

Pros
  • Kitchen and Dining
Cons
  • No Vending Machine

Gr8 Stainless Steel Meat Thermometer

Gr8 Stainless Steel Meat Thermometer. The head needs to be bigger, if there was one it would be 5 stars in all "Performance Ratings". I can read this just fine now if you open the oven door to read this, but then you lose all the heat. If the head were bigger, you could read it through the glass. Young eyes may not have this problem, older eyes do. The flat bottom allows the thermometer to sit flat and not roll down on you.

Pros
  • Thermometers and Timers
Cons
  • Not Sure

BROKEN IN MY OVEN – GLASS IN MY FOOD

I bought this after reading positive reviews in January 2012. I've been using it for 4 months and probably used it 10 times. To date it has worked as advertised. Last Sunday I was cooking a large roast pork and heard a loud bang from the oven about 20 minutes before the roast was supposed to be ready. I opened the door and noticed the meat thermometer had crashed in my oven roast. Glass was everywhere. On my roast, in the pan, on the floor of my oven. I was so disappointed in the product…

Pros
  • Home & Kitchen
Cons
  • So far so good
