Good. until he died.

The subwoofer worked perfectly for the first 5 years. I will confess to being a fan of Polk products in general (I have many different product lines) and unfortunately this is the only one that has really let me down. This is a great subwoofer for a small room (up to 2000 CFT I'd say) and delivers a surprising amount of bass for its size and price (less than $200 off of course). Most recently the sub stopped working due to a broken bass amp - part number RF1145-2. I've read on other forums that

Good for small speakers

I like the compact size of this subwoofer. Polk recommends it for use with small speakers that don't produce very deep bass, such as e.g. sound bars. While it doesn't quite reach the depth of bass extension, it works very well to boost the bass of my ELAC Debut B6 bookshelf speakers in the guest room. It would also be a good choice for small Pioneer bookshelf speakers designed by Andrew Jones, small Klipsches like the RB-10 or even anyone who has an old pair of Realistic Minimus 7s like the…

Good deep sound!: Speaker

This sub does what I was hoping for. I wasn't planning on rocking the house, just adding bass for the music, which did a great job. As mentioned, if you're looking for a big bang from a floor-shaking subwoofer, this might not be an option to buy. But if you want to complement your music and provide a nicely balanced theatrical sound without loosening all the nails in your house, then this works great. The nice small size makes it a great option to fit almost anywhere. The buttons and controls…

Too small, rattles a lot when cranked

Even with two plugs, one in front and one behind the sofa, I find it barely copes with the bass from my Klipsch floor. speakers built into 4" woofers. To hear any noticeable difference at all, I had to set them at 3/4 of their maximum gain to provide the same performance from Klipsch 10" subwoofers (which are almost exactly the same price), but I still heard *the WORST* panting of deep bass (see attached video clip) it literally sounds like someone snapping a branch or banging a piece of wood…

Good sound, not very reliable

Update 01/22/2020: Not sure what prompted me to update this post after 4 years, but here I am. I guess I just want to say that after replacing the caps, which Alexey talks about in detail on his blog (link in the comments), the sub worked longer than the original (1.5 years), and I got a replacement under warranty received (2 years). Why do they make this product with such inferior capacitors? And the replacement caps I bought from Digikey are only a few dollars. I am confident I will never buy
