Type of review

This is a great speakerphone for long daily conferences, especially when you're at the other end of large conference rooms with soft talkers. The only downside to using it as an exclusive office phone is that caller ID is not displayed on incoming calls and everyone is on speakerphone and some people disconnect because of it. I could plug in an old phone, but that would take up valuable desk space.

It's useless after 8 minutes

We did a conference call with 12 people sitting at a rectangular table and it's in the middle, the people on the other end couldn't hear anyone on my side , if they were more than 6 feet away from this phone. In fact, I had to get people to get up and change chairs to talk to the person on the other end of the line. The range of this phone is said to be three times that of ours, and that's for men with a good voice. Projection, not the whispering of children when wondering if this was a fair…

Leader in speakerphones

Polycom sets the standard for speakerphones, and this one is no exception. As with all Polycom products, the microphones are impeccable, easily and selectively picking up speakers from different parts of the room so people turning pages or moving objects won't disrupt the conversation. The people on the other end never asked us to repeat anything or said they couldn't hear, so the meeting went very smoothly. Easy to use, setup is intuitive, just plug and play. The only complaint is that the…

Speaker hisses when power is off

This review is for the D version that I received. The speakerphone has very good sound quality and I would give the speakerphone a four or five star rating. Above the model number was a "promotional" sticker that said "Do Not Call From Cell Phones". (It's not shown in the product photo or mentioned in the description.) I interpreted this as immunity to the annoying hum picked up by cellphone speakers due to radio interference. Overall, I'm giving it two stars because the speaker hisses when the

Good but not perfect

I want to start wearing hearing aids so I need a speakerphone not a headset. I've spent years and hundreds of dollars looking for a speakerphone that I could use in my home office for hands-free conference calling. So far everything I've tried has had very poor sound and always had to pick up the phone when I needed to talk. In the end, I settled on something more "professional" and, based on the price and reviews, chose the Polycom Voicestation 300 analog conference phone. .The very first…
