VERY DURABLE will not break like wood or flexible rubber/foam. If a grown male throws it, it flies VERY VERY far and you must be in a very large open field. But I noticed that my teenage brother had trouble with the rotation but still let it float and drag a bit. But if I throw it, I throw it to hell, and this thing flies so far. It's hard to bring it back in strong winds, but I got it to land at 9 steps on the first day in fairly strong winds.

My 10 year old can drop it and put it back but my kids tease that it's a frisbee in my hands not a boomerang. He doesn't run long distances, but I suspect it's due to his size and the light weight of the toy. Others say they broke, but ours landed in the field hundreds of times without breaking. However, in hot summer weather, it deformed a little. In addition, after a few uses, it turned into a black boomerang - the stripes quickly scratched off.

Excellent boomerang. Bought for my 17 year old, returned it to him within an hour of practicing. The slightest breeze threw him off course, but with a few adjustments to his throw, he was able to bring it back fairly smoothly. Note: The speed at which this thing returns kept him from catching it with his hands, so he let it dive into the ground at his feet. After repeatedly hitting the ground, the boomerang remained undamaged. Very happy with this purchase.
