My daughter and I have long hair - medium or longer, and my daughter's hair is three times thicker. These towels are longer than the ones we bought at the store and our ends don't fall out from underneath. I like the turban style towels for drying my hair as they are easier on my head than traditional heavy towels. I accidentally ordered the wrong size as I didn't know there were different sizes. These towels are soft and absorbent, but better yet, they're big! Yes they are great for long hair but I have short hair and I still love them. They fasten easily with an elastic loop worn over a button. Because the size is so big, they actually absorb water from your hair. I've tried many brands in the past and even made my own. This is by far the best turban/hair towel I have ever bought!
