Description of Pony 56 Reach Spreader Fixture

Features a special deep-reach head, which allows you to micro-adjust your tightness from the outboard end of your clamp. Works with any length of 3/4 in. black or galvanized threaded pipe and a 2-1/2 in. reach. Fixed head can be reversed and clamp can be used as a spreader. Sliding head operates smoothly with the 5/8" adjusting screw for final tightening. Multiple-Disc-Clutch for secure hold along pipe. Coil spring stop

weak iron. for hand tools

I needed another long distance clamp for bending wood. Old from another manufacturer, still works. This broke on first use. Won't, but it's back.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • thin

Great hand tool clip

Very durable with great feel and construction. Much more versatile than standard pipe clamps in general and much better than standard 1/2" clamps from the same manufacturer. Unfortunately I could not find such an extended range option for 1/2" pipes.

Pros
  • nice item
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for seniors

Not Pipe Clamp Spacer

This item is a Chinese copy of a good pipe clamp/spacer that has been around for a long time. When delivered, the clamp has a conical pipe thread that partially penetrates the bore at the end. For use as an expander, a straight thread must be passed through the hole. Do not purchase this item if you need a spreader. The content does not match the description on the box in the Amazon description.

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • No

Heavy duty deep clamps. Used Pony/Jorgensen clips for many years. Sturdy construction with a beautiful industrial orange finish that makes them hard to lose in the store. The only drawback are the clutch springs. One of the ones I received had a twisted spring. A support call put me through to the Pony parts department and they sent a replacement spring. If they don't have spares, they will send you a complete replacement clamp.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Not all fit

How the clamp works well. The spreader doesn't work at all.

Works as a clamp. The spreader doesn't work at all. The pipe thread on the end piece is irreversible, contrary to what one might assume from the list. The pipe thread is tapered, it only threads in one direction so you cannot flip the end fitting over to use as an expander, it will not fit a standard pipe. The package comes with a spring that floats on the outside of the clamp, with no instructions. Pretty bad casting quality compared to other brands.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Good but not great

Only works as a clamp NOT a spreader

The Revain website says it is made in the USA but what was supplied was made in China. If you only need one clamp, this might be good for you. If you want a spreading option it won't work unless you make a special clamp washer to hold the head as you can't rotate the head like you should on the Chinese version. It won't fit because the head threads are tapered like a plumbing flange instead of being a straight thread. The tapered end of the Chinese thread is too small to work with the tapered…

NOT Pipe Clamp Spreader

What Everyone Else Says. The packaging, listing and company website say it can be used as a shaker (and I have used them as shakers in the past) but what they are now shipping has the wrong thread. I ordered them anyway, assuming it was just a manufacturing error, but no. They just don't get it right. Since I needed the tool now, since nobody else makes an equivalent spreader, and because "old stock" looks the same elsewhere as current packaging, I used a standard 3/4 "NPT tap as a substitute.…

PERFECT FOR HOME REPAIRS AND AUTOMOTIVE WORK

I've used it twice and it saved a life. and laid them out to dry under the hot Texas summer sun for several days. If you've never done it before, pressure-treated lumber tends to bend, twist, and warp as it dries. I first routed 2 diagonal corners with a 5 8 inch round bit. I applied some Ideal ClearGlide wire drawing lube to the rounded corners and hammered in. I then used this clamp to press the new beam against the old beam and secured it with 3" Deckmate screws. Second time on the rear leaf

Pros
  • Pipe Clamps
Cons
  • Requires Socket
