Bought this as a backup for traveling. It worked perfectly, just like the original. I've been traveling for several months and it's been a great investment! In the past I've had problems with broken cables when traveling. This one holds up great.

My original charger stopped working and as it is no longer available I had to order a new one. Came yesterday, don't want to work. I had to hold it at a certain angle for it to charge the surface. I immediately ordered a replacement and it arrived today. The exchange did not help at all.

These chargers are not designed for long-term use. All Aftermarket; designed to be compatible with Microsoft Surface tablets. In this form they last about a year. If you're really careful, they last about 18 months. Everything I had broke when connecting the cable/adapter. As long as it's doing what it's supposed to do -- charge the Surface -- spending a few bucks is no problem.

I've had a Surface RT Pro since it came out and I just had to replace the cable. This is a great cord, fits perfectly and is less hot than the original two piece cord.

The old charger had to be twisted, bent and twisted to make it work. I've been driving like this for a year or so. As a result, I gave up and replaced it with this charger. So life is better :) So happy, so very very happy.

The first charger I received was broken, the end that attaches to the tablet came off. I sent it back for a replacement. I got a replacement today and it broke too. I will resend for a refund.

I have a first generation Surface 2-in-1 tablet. The cable I had with me was short and fell apart. Eventually it stopped charging my laptop. I have a Surface 2 and the factory charger started having issues with contacts and charging. I had to wiggle the cable where it connects to the magnetic connector to start charging. I bought this charger on February 11, 2019 for my Surface RT (1st gen). I've only used it a few times in school and spring semester. The charger itself is undamaged and looks like it was bought. However, it has completely disappeared! Very inconvenient as the charger needs to be charged. I CANNOT get product support because it ended on May 11, 2019 and I couldn't return it 30 days after the date of purchase. The charger looks and works the same as the small charger that Microsoft came with one of my other Surface Pro 2 tablets. Has the same charging LED on the end of the magnetic connector. It even has the same sleek cable clip as the original MS charger, which is nice. The charger was bubble wrapped and came in a regular brown box.
