Description of PortaPow Cased Power Blocker Single

This a USB-A male to female adaptor which has the D+, D- and 0V (GND) connected but the 5V disconnected, so power cannot pass through. Useful for specialist applications such as the Raspberry Pi where providing power results in undesirable effects. Transparent casing for a unique look. Note that data transfer will not be possible without the 5V in some cases, eg between a cell phone and a computer USB socket.

Power up your security with this single-board wonder!

After trying this product, I feel more secure leaving my computers and other gadgets connected to public USB ports .The compact design OF this blocker fits perfectly in all my devices' ports eliminating any charge and data transfer combo that may lead to hacking attempts..

Pros
  • Small, efficient, and easy to use.
Cons
  • None, so far.

Ideal for Octopi best in Computers & Accessories

Cut the power line in the cables so my octopus couldn't power my printer screen by itself and caused connection problems but in the end they failed. After losing the large font after 2 days, I ordered this item. Really didn't feel like just sticking tape in each USB socket and this is a good fix for that. It protrudes a bit more from the Raspberry Pi and might get in the way of another USB port above or below, but I think it's a more permanent fix than other common means.

Pros
  • Please note that in some cases data transmission is not possible without 5 V, e.g. B. between a mobile phone and the USB port of a computer.
Cons
  • Updates
