Good for the money, a few things to note

My project is to mechanically couple it to a small servo. But the force to move the switch is very large. Once the Nob is in place, it shouldn't be a problem for someone using their finger. Also, no matter where I look, I can't find the current rating of the switch. Otherwise the aesthetics are good and it has all the mounting pins, washers and a nice sturdy handle. The body of the switch is plastic and this leads me to believe that it will melt with too much current/heat of the solder.

Pros
  • Industrial Electrical
Cons
  • unreliable

12 position switch not 6 position

This switch is a 2 pole switch that can be wired in 6 different directions. When the first six stops are rotated, it connects terminal A to terminals 1 through 6. At the same time, as the switch is rotated from position 1 to 6, terminal C is connected to terminals 7 through 12. When the switch is rotated after the 6th stop to positions 7 through 12, it repeats connections 1-6. So this switch is a 2P6T switch with 12 positions. This can confuse the operator. It would be better if he had a stop…

Not 4P3T switches, kinda weird 1P12T

These aren't 4P3T switches, although I'm not even sure what to call them. There are 4 rods but 12 throws. But only 1 rod is active per throw, so only 1 rod circuit is used in each position. Instead of 3 switch positions where each ABCD center pin corresponds to 3 output pins (you know, every true 4P3T switch in the world), there are 12 switch positions. This means it's more like having 4 independent switches in one box, where only 1 switch can be activated at a time. I can't even think of how…
