Some reviewers commented that they weren't square; However, the set I received was perfectly square. Make it what you want. The star-shaped handles are simply screwed onto the threaded rods. The anodizing quality is good and they're a healthy weight so I'm not worried about them deforming if I put a lot of clamping pressure on them. First thing I checked right out of the box for squareness. Both are at least 1 degree off, if not more. I have a few squares that I use and I check them regularly to make sure they are all correct as things can get a bit out of hand with frequent use.
