Marauder's Map Heat Reveal Ceramic Coffee Mug: Unleash Magic with Heat-Activated Image Review

The original 'cold' color is a little lighter than the picture but 'hot' to the point. Works almost instantly with very hot water and disappears from bottom to top. I was afraid it wouldn't work, but it's great.

Good idea. The mug holds a lot of liquid 20 oz. Unfortunately, the amount of heat needed to change the cup is too much as it will burn. Even when I was able to get him to change, he quickly reverts to his simple background. Guess I need to get one of the espresso Patronem mugs so I can try the Harry Potter mug.

I liked the color of the mug and the way the map appears when you pour hot liquid into the mug. But the cup is quite big and heavy. I used the mug about 3 or 4 times and when I poured hot water into the hot tea mug the base completely detached from the rest of the mug and the hot water flooded the entire counter, floor and me.

Very disappointed with this mug. My daughter bought this for me as a Christmas present and was very upset when we filled it with hot water and the hidden image barely showed up on the mug. We tried pouring steaming water on the outside of the mug and eventually the image appeared. I think pouring boiling water in it might change that, but who could drink something that hot? Return this mug.

The recipient really liked everything about this cup - the colour, the decoration and above all the size. When the cup was filled with hot tea for the first time, two sound "jewels" were heard. The second time the cup was used, the ringing was heard again and the cup began to leak about a half inch above the base. I first bought this product as a gift for my husband. The temperature changing glaze came off when I hand washed it so I returned it and got another one, assuming it was just an accident. All in all I LOVE this mug. I use it every day and every night. Tea, hot cocoa, everything is there. So, that's why you should buy it (and something about it). And if, like me, you don't like flashy designs and prefer a slightly more minimalistic approach than a massive Harry Potter design on a mug that's going to peel off in a week, this mug is SO for you.
