I bought this coffee maker to try a filterless brew after years of making drip coffee. I have to say that the taste is not as good as the pour over filter. It seems that without filter adjustment, the line between regular and strong coffee is getting narrower. I got flavors in the coffee that were undesirable. It actually made me give up coffee for a while and made me realize that I don't really need it. A glass of water in the morning is much healthier.
