Plug for this connection!

This replacement plug was needed when I removed the original plug without disconnecting it from my motorhome. The installation was relatively easy, the instructions are more than sufficient. Replacing the splice saved me over a hundred dollars that it would have cost me to replace the entire cable. Replacing the joint at an RV dealership costs about $60.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Out of fashion

At first glance the fork looks well built and beautiful. After a few months we noticed that the electricity on the van wasn't working properly and started looking for problems. The rubber grommet is very fiddly and slips out of the retaining ring when screwed in (very loose) causing the entire welly to fill with water and burning the cork as you fill with water. It's very scary knowing it's filled with water and no switches worked.

Pros
  • Nice item
Cons
  • Only available in black

The yellow cap is useless so the circlip is useless

The yellow main cap is made of very flexible thin walled rubber. The locking ring is also useless as the ring easily detaches from the yellow rubber cover. So you get a 50A service cord with a cheap rubber jacket that breaks easily, is exposed to rain and can be filled with water. By simply grabbing it to take it out of service, the locking ring will fall off the fork. Regardless of the price, the installation time is not worth it.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Weight

Great 50Amp RV Replacement Cord

I'm tired of unwinding a heavy 50Amp cord when connected to shore power and the 115v adapter current limit, so I have an unused one Converted garage circuit to 220VAC to a separate 220V RV power supply I replaced the 220V plug with a 4 pin alternator plug and used a 4 wire 10ga alternator cable to get to the bus. Worked like a champ! I can easily twist and pull up to 20a on each of the braid's legs. This connector was very easy to fit and only required a little bit of lube on the end of the…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Unusable Features

The outer shell doesn't fit the fork like I'd like, but it works, which is more than I can say about my old fork. It's been on my boat for about 1 month and I take it off about once a week to go sailing and apart from the slightly loose plastic cover it's fine. It's rained quite a bit since I put it on and had no problems with water getting in, and it cost me about 1/3 the price of 'good stuff'. Salt water and salty air are harsh. If it doesn't work out next year I might come back and update…
