Need a slim 17mm key for Ram 1500

Installation wasn't a problem but unless a friend had a 17mm slim public key it would have taken a lot longer. I used my smallest Robogrip pliers on the first and the thin 17mm made the second easier. The pads should be replaced five years ago depending on wear on the non-piston side.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Something else

Far superior to stock brakes

I replaced the discs and pads with a power stop kit on the front and rear of my 2014 Ram 1500 pickup. I noticed that the braking performance was much better than the OEM. The front pads lasted about 3 years (about 40,000 miles) and needed new pads installed. The original OEM rims warped after so many miles, these powerstop rims still look the same as they did when I put them on.

  • handy
Cons
  • not sure

Get what you pay for.

I have had these pads on my 2011 Dodge Dakota for the last 8 months and they have worn down almost to the metal. I drive both city and highway and based on the reviews I thought this would be a great value. Without warranty options I would have to give 1 star and not recommend this product to anyone. If the manufacturer contacts me with solutions, I can change my review and rating

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Great value for money, quiet braking

Excellent value for money. Over $400 was asked to replace pads at a dealership with pads of lower quality. I installed them on a 2016 Ram 1500 in less than 45 minutes. Watched for a directional break on the box and no noise at all just great brakes at a great price. Factory pads have 60,000 miles on them, we'll see how they hold up over time. No noticeable pad wear after a month, just quiet and grippy brakes, which is what brakes are supposed to be.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Arrived open and loose in box, no greasing

I originally ordered a front and rear set of pads and rotors for my truck and used the vehicle fitment manual to ensure proper fitment. Came with the WRONG front pads. I ordered the correct front pads and they arrived with the packaging OPEN and with no lube. The pads rolled freely in the box and one of them was torn. Apparently they were bought, opened and returned by someone else. The picture is exactly what I found when I opened the box. This is the SECOND failure of this company to provideโ€ฆ

  • Free for educational purposes

I think I found my pads

I tried some premium ceramic brake pads when I was frustrated with problems with semi-metallic brake dust. I settled on Satisfied carbon ceramic pads which were amazing but the company went out of business. So I went with the Napa Adaptive 1 pads which don't bite as much but certainly reduce dust and perform well. if not a big initial bite. I then tried the Akebono pads which were very dust free but didn't have the power for a heavy car, especially for towing. I now use these Powerstop Z36โ€ฆ

Their bite is way better than any pad I've had.

I frequently tow 3,000 to 4,000 pounds around town and on long freeway trips. Usually with a fully loaded truck. The original pads on the truck never made noise. Ever since I replaced them, I've had problems with squeaking and pulsing brake discs. I ordered this set and installed it last weekend. Followed the stop at 10 60-10 mph. They have a much better bite than any other pads I've had on a truck to date and are very quiet. I will update with pads after towing but as far as I can see nowโ€ฆ

Cons
  • ill thought out

IF you don't want to stop for a dime then don't buy these

Just a few days before driving on country roads I came across a stop sign hidden behind a bush and for life's sake I couldn't understand why this garbage truck was driving right in front of me. That's when I realized that without foreplay and lubrication, I was going to face car fornication. My anus gnawed a hole in the seat trying to stay still, Big John just slowed down and not at the speed I was comfortable with. My 6 year old inner self shits and screams. I replaced the front pads withโ€ฆ
