🌪️ Dust Port 2 1/2" Universal by POWERTEC 70124 - Optimize Your Dust Collection System Review

I built a 32" wood stand for my old Power Craft table saw to sit on. I installed this dust collector at an angle down and to the right of the table saw operator's station. The Shopvac hose connects directly and collects most of the sawdust when using the saw. The hose is a standard 2 1/2" hose from my 16 gallon ShopVac 830. The pen hose fits perfectly into this dust hole in place of the other attachments with no fasteners required.

The table saw in my small workshop came with a dust bag with a mesh to prevent large parts from getting into the dust bag. The problem was that the dust collection hose didn't fit well in the hole. Sometimes it fell out mid-cut. This connector screws onto the old connector and I no longer have problems with the hose coming out. Since everything else in this store also has 2-1/2" dust boxes, I didn't want to upgrade the saw to a 4" port.

I needed this dust hole for an extraction table I was planning to build. It arrived today and decided I would go ahead and build it. I didn't want it to be too big so I settled on a 24 x 15 with 4.5" pine scraps and a perforated board. I made a frame, installed 2 baffles from the leftover fiberboard and cut a 2.5" hole for the dust box. Hooked it up to my 16 gallon vacuum and it works great.
