More than just bits

I have 3 of these, to make them more comfortable I glued a 1/4 inch piece of plywood to each one. I use one for the routers, one for the drills and the third contains everything I use in my current project plus pencils, bit holders, countersinks, small files, a magnetic extraction tool and a couple of screws. I wear it in my workshop when I work and it really keeps me from changing beats and putting them on and 5 minutes later not knowing where they are. Mandatory organizational tool.

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • Some problems

All my bits are in one place now.

All my lures fit in this handy foam square. I suspect this will not always be the case; but now there is enough space for 1/2" shank and 1/4" shank. Btw, since I have bits of both sizes, it would be handy if there was storage space on top of this ball. I set up a router on my desk to use one size or the other. However, this suggests that I really should build a cabinet with a drawer for this tray and other drawers for accessories like extra collets, collars, inserts and the like.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Expensive

Great way to organize bits

I'm tired of dealing with the little plastic cases that Freud's bits come in, they take up space and are difficult to remove and insert. This foam block keeps all my bits in one place that's easy to put in and take out. I love how it supports 1/4" and 1/2" shanks, the price is very reasonable for what you get and much quicker than drilling through plywood to create something like this. I can put all my bits in and lift the tray because it holds the bits securely in place, you can even tip it…

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Better than expected.

I was impressed with its durability. It also allows you to pack a lot of bits into a small space. I tried making wood posts on my drill press but when I drilled the holes with a 1/2" bit they were too narrow and the bits didn't fit so I re-drilled them 9/16" which made them too tight, loose and the bits were wobbly. At that point I decided that instead of wasting money buying a 17/32" Forstener bit to try again, I would just give it a try and I'm glad I did. The bits fit snug and don't wobble…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Minor issues

The holes are a bit narrow, it's hard to push them deeper than 1/2 inch.

I would like to push the bit shafts further but they are a bit tight. He still supports her well. If you want to store a lot of 1/2" straight/flush shank bits, the spacing is perfect. But if you have profile bits, the hole spacing is a bit tight. The 1/4" holes are fairly well spaced since the outside diameter of most bits isn't that large. But some 1/2 inch bits have an outside diameter big enough when they touch, otherwise you have to go through each other. Hole. If they lose 2 1/2 "holes in…
