FUNCTION: A cost effective alternative to determining table surface flatness, engine block flatness, and can be used on other work surfaces, while also able to tune up and align machines such as jointers, planers and various others. FEATURES: An ergonomic, thick profile with a ribbed reinforcement for easy gripping, with precision milled edges for true parallel and accurate straightness, plus a hanging hole on the end to help keep your precision woodworking tools organized. ALUMINUM CONSTRUCTION: This heavy duty straight edge was engineered with lightweight anodized metal providing long-term durability and protection from everyday wear and abrasion. VERSATILE: Can be used as a straight edge guide for machines, drafting tool, drawing bar, or even to check cylinder head distortion - the possibilities are endless. SCALE: Straight edge ruler measures out to 38 inches long, 2 inches wide, with a 5/16” measuring surface width, and is equipped with a dual sided metric and standard ruler measurement system.

Couldn't get better for the money

Great value for money. Excellent straight edge. While not the most accurate .003 caliber, it's more than enough for almost anything that needs a ruler. The ones at 0.001 are many times more expensive and won't do much unless you're into precision gear. For woodworking and flat boards it doesn't get any better. Would buy again and highly recommend.

Great Price!: Measuring & Marking Tools

I was a little worried about it being as flat as advertised, but when I took it to work and tested it on our Starrett granite it was dead . even! I couldn't get a 0.001 dipstick all the way under! The light from the very bright LED flashlight did not penetrate the base and the stone. It worked great customizing my jointer and recommending it for its quality and value!

Exactly as advertised at a good price.

Don't listen to people who put this on the counter and say it's uneven, what I got was perfect. I placed it on a precisely flat surface and tested it with feeler gauges. I didn't get past anything until I got 0.003 inches, which is exactly the accuracy it advertises. I've used it to set up jointers and it was spot on. It was a great product for the money.
