🖍️ Prang Payons Watercolor Crayons - Round Sticks, 12 Multicolored Crayons + Brush - 1 Box (34312) Review

Such a fun way for young children to dip and slide to paint on paper. Much easier to use than crayons or colored pencils. And no brushes for washing like watercolors!

I had no idea they existed until I volunteered at my son's school and the kids used them on an art project. It's more fun than plain old water colors and gives kids more control than using a brush. The kids liked them a lot so we bought them or use them at home too.

I love the BRILLIANT colour, lots and lots of pigment in a small amount. I also like the wrapped "cardboard" lid for crayons as it makes them strong and less likely to break if I'm "cruel". Works great with Inktense Art Blocks, Art Bars, Gel Sticks (I have Faber Castell Gel Sticks, not Gelatos), Posh Inks, Gesso - black, white or clear, and matte gel media. I will buy them again and again as I enjoy using them :)

I'm an elementary school teacher. We did a field trip to the local art center and one of the projects they did with the kids using these pencils. They are amazing! They arrived with one of 12 broken crayons. I wrote to Prang about this but never got a reply! The crayons are quite small and seem expensive for what you get ($12 for a set of 12!). Each is packaged in a cardboard sleeve, but they don't work that well if you're trying to color. They're a bit awkward to hold and if used to the box I don't know how well they'll work.
