It lays out a fine stream of cutting oil to make crisp etches

An excellent, easy to use glass cutter. Its self lubricating feature lays out a fine line of oil and the cut is very clean.

Pros
  • Works great but should come with oil.
Cons
  • Not suitable for cutting extremely thick glass

Good product - my new review

I have used this kind of glass cutter before and this one was just as I expected. It arrived in a timely manner and I’m pleased with the product.

Pros
  • My wife likes everything about it except it leaks oil , just like my Harley Davidson
Cons
  • This leaks even if stored upside down with the cover on

Cuts just like it’s supposed to.

I used this to cut some self-stick glass tiles. It worked just like it’s supposed to. I followed the advise of other reviewers and opted to apply the oil directly to the cutting surface so the cutter would leak oil. I marked my cuts first and used a straight edge to keep me from wandering during the cut. One score across the surface is all it takes. I used a pair of pliers with a hand towel to snap the glass. Happy I didn’t have to spend a lot of money for a small project.

Pros
  • Cuts class very easily. Easy to use. I don’t put oil in handle. It’s just as easy to dip the tip
Cons
  • Leaks oil

Makes a mess, dont buy.

I mistakenly thought the tube in the picture was oil. it's not, so had to buy some & wait to use.Got my glass-cutting oil and OIL LEAKS OUT CONSTANTLY!I adjusted the cap every which way & now its closed tightly & still leaks. My old non-auto-oil has a brass ball on end to tap glass & this one has a screw cap which has an edge - doesn't work as well.I also am not a fan of the push in blade, I understand it is to pump oil to blade but it's harder to line up my cuts unless I allow a pool of oil to…

Pros
  • Very handy tool
Cons
  • The cutting wheel can become misaligned with frequent use

Buyer Beware good for me

This product came pre-opened, and missing 2 pieces— the larger sized glass cutter (which is what I needed for the project), and the oil. It’s impossible to return because of coronavirus.

Pros
  • First time ever cutting glass or mirrors and I was able to use this and make a bunch of perfect cuts.
Cons
  • The oil feed system can be difficult to refill or maintain

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Broke immediately best in my review

Tip rotated 45 degrees so I switched the tip with larger size. Same wobble so I tightened the screw and it sheared off in the tool. So, can't fix and totally useless.

Pros
  • My wife likes it. Need I say more?
Cons
  • The oil feed system can make the grip of the cutter slippery, leading to potential accidents

Great Tool - my new review

The carbide wheel cuts so much better than the steel. The grip also allows me to apply the appropriate pressure to my glass without it shattering on me. I like this style better than the pencil styles because it eases the pain and pressure on my wrists. Great buy.

Pros
  • Little hard to use but great for the money
Cons
  • Cuts well. Leaks out cutting oil all the time , even when not using .Expected more.

Excellent! - my new review

I bought this to cut a 7 foot mirror. First, I though I'd make a couple wall sconces out of old Jack Daniel's bottles. No problem popping off the bottle bottoms after scoring w/ this tool. Thanx guys! 😋

Pros
  • wife loves how secure it feels in your hand when cutting glass
Cons
  • The pistol grip may not be comfortable for some users and may cause hand fatigue

The Reviews were Right

I purchased this cutter because of all of the positive reviews it received. I could not be happier with the cost and quality of this fine cutting tool.

Pros
  • nothing to dislike
Cons
  • May not be suitable for cutting very intricate shapes

Good product on my review.

We use the glass cutters for stained glass projects. Good cutters. Very fast delivery, including a delivery on Sunday afternoon under free shipping. Can't beat that.

Pros
  • So easy to use!
Cons
  • May not work well on tempered or laminated glass

This product appears to be leaking the oil out.

I have used this product once. Overnight the oil has leaked all over my workstation. Am thinking about returning it Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Better than other types of cutters
Cons
  • The oil feed system can sometimes clog, leading to inconsistent cuts

A dud, however. good for me

Oil poured out when cutting glass also leaked out while it was just sitting there. Seller reached out to me and reimbursed the full purchase price without return of glass cutter.Guessing the one I received was a dud.

Pros
  • Cutter did not stay sharp long
Cons
  • Every time I put this down there is a little pool of oil left in its wake :(

I'm new to stained glass and so, after a good deal of research I chose this pistol grip cutter to start. It was a toss-up between this pistol grip OIL FEED cutter and the Toyo Dry )no oil) Supercutter. While I really like this pistol grip cutter, I am still going to purchase and try the Toyo Super Cutter as I don't care for wiping up oil all the time. This pistol grip cutter is very good, though - if you don't mind the oil.

Pros
  • Cuts glass super easy.Fast delevery
Cons
  • The oil feed system may leak, leaving an oily residue on your work surface

Nice easy cuts in my review

It works really well, nice handle shape and angle for easy use. Only down fall is that the oil drips out when stored. Wasn’t quite the size or strength that I needed..

Pros
  • Not quite as sharp as the one from Japan
Cons
  • Wasn’t quite the size or strength that I needed.

It leaks real bad good for me

I just started using this cutter for my stained glass projects. I didn't put but 2 droppers of oil in it, as I am just getting back into the swing of this. I noticed that it leaves puddles of oil when you put pressure on it to score the glass. Now, please understand. I realize that the cutter is designed to lubricate the roller upon contact with the glass. But at the rate this thing is putting out oil, I will be buying a whole lot of oil and wasting it.

Pros
  • Perfect for cutting glass; easy to hold and use.
Cons
  • Not a consistent flow of oil. It either has a puddle of oil or very little.

It's a KNIFE!: my feedback

Yes, it is a knife and it cuts. The handle makes it easy to grip and hold. The different blades make it easier to use for a variety of projects. Plus, you can add more pressure to it, for cutting, than you can an Xacto knife due to the pressure added to the handle.

Pros
  • Great handling.
Cons
  • Replacement blades can be costly and may need to be replaced frequently, depending on use

Does a great job good for me

There are glass cutters that are more expensive that don't match the quality of this one. It's the one I use out of my collection of almost ten of them. It leaks oil, but they all do, but it's so accurate and does an amazing job.

Pros
  • Awesome product! Good fit in the hand. Cuts great. Easy to use. I would buy from this seller again.
Cons
  • Requires the use of oil, which can be messy and time-consuming

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Use the correct cutting head

The glass cutter comes with two cutting heads. It is important to use the correct head for the thickness of glass being cut. Also keeping the cutter well oiled is important. The more oil the better the score line.

Pros
  • Fits well in your hand. Cuts well. A good value for the price.
Cons
  • Can be difficult to control for beginners

Revainrating 3 out of 5

OK but better are out there

OK, but not top cutter. I started out with this one and did OK. Decided to upgrade to a Toyo cutter and can see a significant improvement in the quality of the cuts. Suggest spend a little extra $ and going for quality.

Pros
  • Love the pistol grip. easy to use. I use with out oil for fused glass.
Cons
  • The tungsten carbide blade can be brittle and break easily under certain conditions

Works well and is reliable

I bought the oil too and it works great after struggling with cheap glass cutters. Very nice product. I am using it cut glass mirrors for now and works very well.

Pros
  • Used it to cut glass for aquarium building.Works excellent. No complaintsHad it a few months
Cons
  • The pistol grip design may not work well for those with smaller hands
