Great value for money, does its job

Everything works great, but at 400 it gets too hot to use as your hands often touch the retaining clips or screw knobs that are too hot. At lower temperatures this is not a problem.

Inexpensive in Welding and Soldering

This heater is very good value for money. Build quality is solid and the heater can reach very high temperatures, sufficient to reflow standard SN/PB solder. Note that I wrote 450 watts right on the product label and also on the heating coils, so it's probably not 600 watts as advertised. Still unbeatable for the price.

Good preheating station

I use it to preheat the bottom of the SMT boards while blowing hot air on top. Works well. The temperature seems stable and everything is of acceptable quality. I'm not exactly sure what the temperature shown on the display refers to, but relatively speaking it's very constant and you can run the process. I build boards on a table using a template. and tweezers. Basically 0805 are the smallest I need. Then I move the boards into this heater one at a time and cap them with hot air.
