Haven't installed it yet, from testing it seems to be working well so far. The particles are about the size of coconut pebbles so they can be held in a fairly coarse mesh as you can see in the picture. I had to wash them in reverse osmosis water and dry them in a vegetable bag before I could use them to get rid of the dust.

Ideal for replacing carbon filters in room filters. A 55 lb bag fills two 8 x 40" carbon filters plus half of one 8 x 22" filter. The seller sent quickly in a strong package in the box. Also, it only takes about 20 minutes to drill out the rivets from the charcoal filter cover, remove the old charcoal, and then fill it with new charcoal. Then simply put the cover back on and fasten it with self-tapping screws or seal it with good foil tape.

As usual, the goods arrived a day earlier. This charcoal appears to be of good quality. The granule size is slightly larger than the activated carbon replaced in the 6" × 18" filter, but matches the small dust size. I was able to freely fill a small filter, its volume is about 1565 cubic centimeters. Advertised at 5.5 pounds.
