When I first purchased this item I was very concerned that I might be throwing my money away based on some of the reviews I read. Well I just finished putting it together. and I have to say it's not as bad as I thought it would be. First, it was packaged well enough that not even Fed Ex could screw it up. This is a good start. Once assembled, the unit is very durable. To keep it that way, I coated the edges with some wood glue, as I know from experience with other manufacturers that the lever locks supplied can come loose. I have about 460 CDs and room for about 200 more. I used the included wall bracket which attaches it to the wall and prevents it from tipping over in an earthquake, but even without it the unit is pretty stable (unlike my old unit which was very easy to tip over when full of CDs was).
