Fits small/compact zester

I love that this zester is compact and very easy to fit in my crowded utensil drawer. It has a cover to protect the blades, which becomes a raisin picker when in use. Only the outermost layer of peel is needed. It's almost impossible to get anything bitter with this guy. Being small makes it a bit more difficult to use than the larger ones I've used in the past.

Pros
  • Zester
Cons
  • Negative Gift

Without peel in the kitchen and dining room

I love using citrus peels in cooking and baking and was very happy to find such a compact bowl. However, I was very disappointed when I first used it. It was so hard to get him to actually peel the lemon. It took me forever to appreciate it all. I liked that the lid snaps open at the back to capture all the flair, but overall I'd say save your money and buy another one that's lighter.

Pros
  • Grater, paring and planing knife
Cons
  • No.

Bad for citrus.

Does not work well with lime. I cook with lime almost as often as I do with lemon. Lime zest is thinner and harder than lemon zest. This device barely scratches the lime skin and produces very little zest. A regular long thin zester works much better with limes. I haven't had a chance to use this on lemons, so I'll share my experience with lemons later. Update September 2020:. I wasn't impressed with the performance-testing lemons either. I think the sharpness it produces is very low as the cut

Pros
  • Home and Kitchen
Cons
  • Thin
